Hi. I’m happy you’re here.

We have a lot to experience together. Transitions are a necessary part of life; whether we want to face them or not. One of the things I have realized in working with children, adolescents and adults is that the uncertainty surrounding transitions can cause changes in the way we think, feel and behave. This may lead to symptoms such as anxiety and depression. As a transition specialist, I can help you learn to navigate this uncertainty in a way that is most helpful to you. Let’s get started; we have work to do!

Interesting fact: I left warm, sunny Jamaica for cold St. Paul, Minnesota. Why? To further my studies immersed in a multi-cultural environment. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in psychology at Macalester College – a liberal arts institution with an emphasis on internationalism. Wanting to combine my love for education and psychology lead me to complete my M.Ed. in School Psychology at Georgia State University. I returned to Jamaica and worked with children, parents, and schools both privately and publicly. In order to focus more on my therapeutic skills, I completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Walden University. I am licensed as an Associate Professional Counselor in Georgia and I am presently completing my post-doctoral internship.

I enjoy everything artsy, but my favorite art form is dance. I was involved in musical theater at an early age and I danced with the National Dance Company of Jamaica for 6 years.

I enjoyed my experience as a child of the arts so much that I also completed a Diploma in Dance Education At the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica so that I could teach dance to children. I was excited to discover therapy as another art form to add to my repertoire and I try to pull on my other arts experience in my sessions to create a fulfilling experience for my clients.
