Hello,
I am Dr. Arcella. I am so happy that you are here. I am a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Consultant, and Master Teacher with 20+ years of experience. I have had extensive training and I am considered an expert in Learning, Behavior Modification, Research, and Training. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College, my M.S. degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University, and my Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in School Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi.
So…
During my tenure at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine/Kennedy Krieger Institute, I specialized in parent training and marriage and family therapy. Additionally, I have had the honor to train the next generation of mental health advocates and providers as an assistant professor and contributing faculty member at several colleges and universities. I also have provided training and presentations for local and national conferences.
Also,
I have worked with clients in mental health facilities (inpatient and outpatient clinics, university counseling center, community health organizations), businesses, schools, and private practice. In my clinical practice, I use cognitive behavioral treatments to promote wellness in individuals, couples, and women. I have also served as a consultant for organizations such as the CDC, Spelman College, and DeKalb County Schools. Through the use of evidenced based treatment and uniquely crafted experiential learning and behavioral activities, I work to enhance outcomes for individuals, groups, and businesses.
My Motto
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. ~ S. Lewis
Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is. ~ Albert Camus
In order for you to help others experience life differently, you yourself must be a different experience. ~Dr. Arcella
